Whiting Bay
Our most popular spot - tucked above the beach on Sandbraes Road - gives sauna-goers uninterrupted views across Whiting Bay to the mainland and a wonderfully private feel. From the sauna, a set of rustic steps leads down to a small pebbly strip, then on to a wide stretch of sand and the sea—a beautiful place to sauna at any tide.
Top tip: pack beach shoes to nip over the pebbles in comfort!
Kildonan
When we’re at Kildonan, the sauna sits just above the beach at Seal Shore Campsite, with sweeping views to Pladda and, in the distance, Ailsa Craig—a dramatic backdrop if ever there was one. Access to the beach (and your sea dip) is via a few large boulders that act as natural steps. Because it’s so tide-dependent, a sauna session at Kildonan is a rare treat!
Lamlash
When we’re at Lamlash, you’ll find the sauna on the grassy verge above the beach, right outside the COAST Discovery Centre. It’s a front-row seat to the view of Holy Isle, and just a short stroll - or a brisk dash! - to the water for your cool-off.
This site is more open and less secluded than our Whiting Bay spot, giving it a lively, airy atmosphere. Another tide dependant site, and a special treat in the evening as the sunsets.
